Year in Review

How often do you hear:  "Oh I can't even remember being (fill in the blank) years old?"  With my birthday coming up, I feel like I'm hearing this more and more... and yes, I often feel the same way. I can't remember what I was doing when I was 17, 18 or whatever...  But I'm determined to capture some highlights from when I was 24 :)
When I was 24, I ...
  • Quit a perfectly good job because I was "bored"
  • ... learned that a good job is hard to come by
  • ... worried about money for the first time ever
  • ... but was oddly happy

  • Celebrated my 24th birthday in Austin with friends <3  Best birthday ever!
  • Became a US citizen
  • ... and got an excellent offer to work with the government
  • Got arrested for driving under the influence
  • ... and missed my chance to move to Washington DC
  • Got my Master's degrees... and don't feel any smarter
  • Made the biggest financial mistake thus far... lesson learned
  • Went hiking for the first time ever!

  • Traveled to 15 states (including 3 out-of-state interviews)
  • ... and fell in love with Indianapolis :)
  • ... went to San Francisco to see my good college buddy, Karina before she went back to Indo.  Made me feel like my carefree days are officially over :(

  • Bought my first car (way late, I know)
  • Crossed off 2 things from my "10 Things To Do Before 30" list... I never thought I would get any crossed off!
  • Started working out 6 days a week (but still have a hard time walking up a flight of stairs)
  • Got my license suspended temporarily (thank you, Department of Licensing... for finally making a decision 9 months after your "deadline")
When I was 24, I learned that you could pick your mistakes, not your consequences.
